Psoriasis Excimer Laser
XTRAC Excimer Laser
We utilize the XTRAC Excimer Laser to effectively treat mild to moderate plaque psoriasis lesions.
The laser safely delivers UVB phototherapy to the targeted lesions, meaning healthy surrounding skin is not adversely exposed to UV light. The six to ten sessions necessary to treat the condition are simple, quick and can be performed in our office. No anesthesia is required. Laser application is not painful.
Treatment results generally last several months, providing patients long-lasting relief from unattractive sometimes painful lesions.
SpectraPulse® Photofacial
The SpectraPulse® Photofacial is a non-invasive appliance that uses Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) to remove vascular irregularities and pigmented lesions.
Depending on the severity of your condition, generally five to six treatment sessions are needed to produce maximum results.
SpectraPulse® works by rejuvenating the skin and stimulating new collagen to gradually improve appearance. Following the application of a clear gel, pulses of light are transmitted to the skin through the handpiece.
Treatment is quick. Patients can resume normal activities the same day of treatment. The first two treatment sessions typically help to eliminate redness, while the third, fourth and fifth sessions help to stimulate the production of new collagen, initially targeting the surface of the skin and extending through the dermal layer. Treatment is generally performed at three-week intervals.
Following treatment, your skin may appear and feel like a mild sunburn. Redness and spider veins may appear more visible, but will begin to fade. Brown spots will flake off after several days.
DioLite™ 532
The DioLite™ 532 laser is the latest technology available for gently removing vascular and pigmented lesions.
During the treatment an intense beam of laser light will be emitted through the handpiece of the laser; targeting only the affected area, while leaving healthy skin cells intact. Patients may experience a mild stinging sensation during treatment. Following application, some redness may occur, but should go away within two to four hours. Swelling may also occur. However, it should only last one to two days. Generally no anesthesia is required. Treatment is simple.
Vascular conditions we can treat include:
- Facial Telangiectasia-spider veins that develop as a result of dilated capillaries or arterioles.
- Spider Angiomas-a form of telangiectasia. This spider-like lesion is characterized by a slightly raised red dot.
- Cherry Angiomas-a small cherry-red lesion.
- Leg Telangiectasia- spider veins that appear on the leg as a result of dilated capillaries or arterioles.
Pigmented lesions we can treat include:
- Lentigines-benign flat brown lesions that develop on areas of the body frequently exposed to the sun.
- Keratoses-slightly raised scaly pigmented lesions.
- Freckles-small, flat spots on the skin that can appear red, tan or brown.
- Dermatosis Papulosis Nigra-small, harmless black marks that appear on the face. More common for persons of Asian or African descent.
Final results for vascular lesions should be noticeable ten to 14 days after treatment. Patients should notice the final results for pigmented lesions within two to three weeks following application.
